Farah  is our esteemed Clinical Director, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in rehabilitation medicine. As an affiliated clinical educator, Farah oversees our therapy programs and ensures that all treatments are aligned with the latest research and best practices in child development and rehabilitation. She brings forward over 15 years of experience and expertise and has positively impacted hundreds of families.

Executive Director

Sharon Dhaliwal, our Executive Director, has been instrumental in shaping the vision and direction of My Empower Therapy. Her leadership ensures that our center not only meets but exceeds the standards of care expected by our families and the community. Sharon also offers private equine therapy services which promotes positive outcomes for our patients.

Dr. Ahmad F. Amro

RSLP – Speech Language Pathologist

Dr. Ahmad F. Amro is a certified Registered Speech-Language Pathology consultant in British Columbia and Jordan. He completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees from the United States of America, with clinical and research mentorships by leading scientists in the field. He has a long experience as a professor of speech-language pathology and more than 20 years of clinical experience as a clinician, supervisor, and leader of speech-language pathology in all medical settings and in private practice. He is trained in many clinical programs and has a long history of providing professional workshops to colleagues of different levels. He is an expert with Apraxia, Speech delays, stuttering and cognitive delays.

Levy

Levy received his Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto in 2021. Before that, he studied Music with a specialization in Vocal Performance from Briercrest College in Saskatchewan.

He is a member in good standing with Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC,) Speech and Hearing BC, and is registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of BC (CSHBC) and the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP).

Levy enjoys working with children through a play-based approach. Levy has experience with parent-coaching, early intervention, and providing services to clients of various backgrounds (ASD, Down Syndrome, CP etc). Levy enjoys incorporating music into his sessions and tries his best to make sessions fun, engaging, and neurodiversity affirming. Extra training includes SCERTS and Meaningful Speech, Gestalt Language Processing and The Ultimate Play Based Speech Course.

Sahar F.

Sahar is now a Full time team member of My Empowers multidisciplinary team, across the Panorama, Newton and Morgan Crossing Clinic. She is a behavior specialist and serves as a Registered Clinical Counsellor certified by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors

She is working in both the Speech and Behavior Department under the supervision of Dr. Amro

Sahar has worked as a SLP speech therapist for about 15 years in Iran. She is highly experienced in working with children of different needs, diversities, and array of challenges such as Autism, ADHD, Hearing Loss, learning disability, Down syndrome, Delayed speech, Articulation Disorder, Stuttering and much more.

I’m addition to her Masters And PhD Degree she also encompasses certifications in Play therapy, Family Therapy, Tale therapy, Drawing interpretation.

My PhD thesis was about the effectiveness of identiplay on improving imitation, joint attention , pretend play and communication skills.

Working with children is my passion. I have always loved my job, and I really enjoy helping children to have a better life.

Tanya McCarthy has been working in the field of applied behavior analysis for over 20 years. She has provided services to children and youth between the ages of 2 and 19 in home settings, schools, and the community. Tanya is a board-certified behavior analyst since 2020 and holds a master’s degree in special education with a concentration in autism and developmental disabilities from the University of British Columbia and has also received an advanced citation diploma in disability and applied behavior analysis from Douglas College. Tanya is passionate about using the science of behavior analysis to promote meaningful changes to improve the lives of her clients and their families.
